GlobalFund Trading Xchange (GFTx) has partnered with Nguyen Thanh Huong JSC, a cashew nut shell processor in Phuoc Long, Binh Phuoc Province, Vietnam. The company collects cashew nut shells, and extracts and refines cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL). GFTx supplies the de-oiled cashew nut shell cake left after the extraction.

What is de-oiled cashew nut shell cake?

Also called cashew DOC or CNSL cake, it is the solid residue left after cashew nut shell liquid is extracted from raw cashew nut shells by pressing or solvent processing. It is a dense pressed cake that still contains some CNSL and phenolic compounds, and it can be burned directly, crushed or pelletized.

Uses

  • Industrial fuel: a replacement for coal or wood in boilers, thermic fluid heaters, brick and tile kilns and cement plants.
  • A by-product of cashew processing: the cake is what remains of the shells once the CNSL has been recovered.
  • Combustion: because of its phenolic content the cake should be burned in suitable furnaces; buyers should check suitability with their boiler or kiln supplier.

The specification, quantities and delivery terms of the cake are quoted on request: write to info@globalfundtrading.net or ask the GFTx Assistant on this website.
