EnstedHavn, Bulk Terminal of Aabenraa, is embarking on a strategic initiative to create the EU Biomass Logistics Hub. This venture optimizes current assets, enhancing services and facilities to support GlobalFund Trading Xchange in establishing a new, efficient Biomass and Grains supply chain between ASEAN and EU.
The development of this logistics hub not only fosters a robust supply chain but also aligns with the Global Food Security and Global Energy Security programs. By creating an Energy & Foods Super Corridor, EnstedHavn aims to contribute to sustainability and environmental goals, making strides in green logistics for a secure global future.
The cooperation between GlobalFund Trading Xchange is for the ASEAN EU Super Corridor Initiative—a 20-year plan with Port EnstedHavn that was agreed in July this year. By establishing the framework of the biomass supply chain superstructure, this initiative provides flexibility to make necessary adjustments to obtain the best solutions by reducing variables to enable synthesis of the supply chain model.
The 19 hectares of land in EnstedHavn Terminal Facilities include warehouses, cranes, automated conveyor systems, barge areas, and port handling services. The integrated export hub—part of GFTx’s plan to turn Aabenraa Port into a beacon for a sustainable future—is expected to cater to the growing demand for biomass products in the EU, while remaining available to support demand globally.
